The 2nd Global University Career Development Conference (GUCDC) was held in Shanghai, Suzhou, and Beijing from 19 March to 25 March, attracting more than 35 career officers from global universities, 50 HRs from Chinese enterprises, and 20 media representatives. Led by the Global University China Career Union (GUCCU) and Lockin China, the Conference featured a number of topics and rich contents, covering 10 presentations focusing on how to provide better career support for Chinese returnees. By bringing career professionals from all around the world, GUCDC once again showed the rising prosperity of research and recruitment in Chinese overseas graduates and its growing maturity as a leader in the field.
We are now opening a series of monthly online courses for students who wish to seek opportunities in China. The courses contain several topics such as ‘introduction of China’s job market’, ‘How to write a proper CV for Chinese employers’ and ‘How to prepare for online job application’. The courses are all given by overseas recruiting experts with rich HR experiences.
All courses are totally free for students from GUCCU member universities. At this moment, GUCCU is offering this free course to all universities so that their students could get ready for seeking opportunities in China as early as possible.

Through over 5 months’ research and the analysis of 150,000+ questionnaires from Chinese Returnees and 1000+ surveys from employers, GUCCU and Lockin China released its exclusive “Chinese Overseas Elites Career Development Report 2017”.
It provides a comprehensive understanding of the current job market in China and what does it mean for Chinese returnees. Several questions such as what are the distinct features of returnees, what kind of enterprises are hunting for returnees and what are returnees expecting for their future job are all answered in the report.

The career office at Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University and UIUC provided professional and comprehensive support to the event, which attracted about 200 persons to the Info Session at CMU, over 300 at CU and about 150 at UIUC.Much appreciated for all they have done to help students and alumni with career and personal development.
